Meaningless Freedom

Recently a friend and I had an enlightening conversation about how people can be.

His view is that “more than half the people are just stupid to let this happen or our country wouldn't be on the road to socialism, to communism.” This historical record is pretty compelling evidence, though my tendency is to believe it's a marginal, “God Love em” percentage of maybe 10% that suffer this considered “attribute.”

Interestingly enough, this friend of mine has an internet radio show with a pretty good following. He invited me there, as he has before, as a few of these so-called radio talk show hosts do, most for the idea of boosting ratings, though in his case ratings aren't the reason that his following has listened… it’s the fact that his show has good conversations.

Well, the conversation when I went to his show was good until his co-host started to use his co-host role as a means to direct the conversation, “messing” with people by playing devil's advocate, etc. On more than one occasion the co-host has taken on this sort of activity, playing “agitator” for the sake of what the co-host sees as his role on the show, even if it means spreading and repeating all sorts of mischaracterizations, misrepresentations, and self-proclaimed technicalities entirely reliant on his personal anecdotal evidence, and a sheer belief asserted for sake of creating a “good” conversation, much like terrestrial radio. In escalation of this activity he begins to cite the Supreme Court as his witness to justify these erroneous beliefs, the escalation the result of the rest of the callers standing tall on their actual knowledge of what is being discussed, while also recognizing his unnecessary spinning of the conversation to the point of often taking us entirely off point – a common tactic in diffusing the gravity of the discussion so nothing meaningful can be achieved or worked out.

Now all of this is innocent, even benign “man play” in the combative nature of men until you consider the circumstance our nation is in: less than 6 months before we decide on having a future even remotely resembling what Our Founders in representation of us constituted for a self-governing nation, or, that of placing ours’ and succeeding generations’ futures in a final state of jeopardy by collectivism, to which there is little, if any chance of a return to Individual Liberty.

For me this battle started over 20 years ago, and a long and enduring wait for an awakening of this nation is the perception that the Tea Party represented. I was wrong. I cite the reality that most everyone is caught up in the issues, discussing what the parties and the media have served to us as the main course of our concerns; we run around as hand-raised parrots with little if any knowledge of how much we don't know, and that we've walked the plank over the Abyss. So many are new to it all, reciting their latest discovery as the fire that should be lit under our butts to act, and, as insult to injury, their tutelage is to be met by an agitator, who, over time and by the new person's educated belief in debate and the need to fight back, being an agitator is what is passed along. Agitating the adversaries to freedom isn't freedom nor how you gain it, especially when they have a level of influence, even power, to wield against us in ways unimaginable because, as free Americans we're not out to have such power over others.

The worst part of this is that either the agitator is as oblivious to the net effect of their actions or is carrying on intentionally to allow the tactics and means, the methods of our adversary, and their divisiveness, to control the conversation, to interpose the values these root from as what assured our freedom. The Constitution was not written to assure an incessant argument over issues of a tangential impact at best in any quarter. No the Constitution was written limiting government in order to demonstrate that Individual Liberty is had by such a mechanism, and such limited government is the absolute bedrock of this nation for us to have self-government, though we would have to enforce the terms and conditions of national government existence set forth by the parchment Our Constitution is written on. Thus the missed message in it all: that the agitation, argument, and controversy has not brought us any closer to truly understanding anything we need to be sure America rises to the occasion of Freedom that Our Founders afforded us as their Posterity since 1776.

The seeking out and devising solutions, taking care to bring forward citation of the Constitution in connecting us to the significant dot of history this act of Our Founders represents, and recognizing that these are the tools to be pursued and focused upon if we truly wish to save our nation, these things aren't being done, aren't occurring or being discussed, instead the agitation, the “messing with” someone else, and the personal comfort to the agitator provided by this activity is all that is going on.

My friend who owns this radio show has often explained that the trouble with most of the shows is the egos. Yet, he appears to be oblivious to the big ego game of re-couching and injecting, the ego driven agitator tools that liquidate the conversation into a mere summary propaganda, particularly when done by those who have the power to mute or even ban others from the station, the agitator's demeanor to make certain to speak knowing that if they are overruled by the masses, they carry the hammer of eliminating the masses from the conversation – the ego of the agitator asserted by their assertion of power and being a co-host.

The hypocritical truth to all of this is that a free people demanding that a government adhere to the Constitution has little ability to maintain the integrity of their position so long as there are “little Hitlers” amongst them, those who must “mess” with others for the sake of some gamesmanship element that only hinders the conversation by being a sideshow of little import, yet resulting in a spinning of others’ views and positions.

For certain, this makes great entertainment, but the trouble is Our Nation, Our Constitution, and Our Posterity aren't episodes in entertainment, a passing history that will correct itself and we just have to grin and bear it. Most of us know we haven't time for any of these games, yet few of us are willing to set them aside to save the nation, a rather revealing truth of why we have the croniest of the cronies “representing us” by voting on legislation they haven't read as the erroneous common thread of American Government today.

Our nation is in trouble because a nation is her people, and we've let go of the principles that are the foundation, the bedrock, the chief cornerstone of America in an unholy exchange for entertainment and the high of being an agitator, the left winning the argument that when we die it's over and there is nothing else (thus explaining how the baby in the womb is mere tissue as well), we pursue the desperate settlement of a few good laughs in our ego driven gamesmanship over actually making a concerted and genuine effort to save our nation.

Until we can comprehend the severity of our situation as more than an intellectual event, as the matter of our heart and being, of our existence, to which we'll fight for more than merely a negotiated survival in subject servitude, we'll continue to aid and abet the enemies of this nation by continuing to delay facing what we must do until there is no more time left. This is the wrong committed by time we spend “messing” with each other rather than recognizing what is wrong and engineering a solution, discovering what Our Founders called “the genius of the people” that we have inside but seem to be unwilling to use since it is not entertaining. Day by day it is less and less likely we'll ever get to solving anything except the inconsequential and making agreement after agreement in agreeing to disagree for sake of moving on to the next opportunity at agitation, and gaining an inconsequential tally mark of winning the next argument over that person another day. Truly unbelievable how we walk in a single file, one foot behind the other in binary procession, down a path that arcs right into the very central government socialist & communist ideal and State, where government is the sole provider of solutions; we carry out or narcissistic NEA educated social banter of a fight over what the facts are, as though history lies, persistent in our need to pursue insignificant issues that never even begin to broach what we can do to save our country.

It breaks my heart to watch Our People, Our Nation, Americans, entirely devoured by gamesmanship we just don't have time for, and oblivious to their setting aside We The People discovering, and acting upon, solutions. We'd rather stand still, idling in our efforts while laughing together in our misery, fully entertained as we, Americans as a Nation, die from within.

It's peculiar how the owner of this radio station is well aware how egos destroy getting to the meat of things, that he can see “stupid” people really easily, yet, those who are in his midst, who are carrying on stupidly, are overlooked entirely.

I, for one, won't be doing anymore of these radio shows, for the people who manage them, the games of ego that are overlooked, the messing with others that's to them somehow so necessary, is destroying, is disrupting, and diffusing the focus and concentration we need to inform, and therefrom, to regain an intrinsic knowledge of our right and authority, to divine and act upon solutions, and, if my friend is right, a free people who set aside the pursuit of solutions, of understanding the foundation of their Freedom and how to use the instruments left to them in securing their Liberty, is sheer stupidity.

Ask any Native American (that we once just called “Indians” because those claiming discovery of this continent thought they landed in the West Indies), “What makes a nation?” and they'll tell you without hesitation “a nation is its People.”

Thus, this nation, a union of several states as defined by the differences amongst their people, a nation -- forged out of over a decade of civil arguments in convention and battles on the battlefield -- as a compound republic, the bicameral legislature a House and Senate of distinct difference, with the latter, “an instrument for preserving” the State Government's “residuary sovereignty” by their necessary approval to afford the Acts of the National Government in myriad ways (See Federalist 62), our “united States,” is lost to generations of teaching in argument and contrarianism for the sake of controversy by arguendo as some sort of saving grace. You think it is an accident the educational system wants to give a trophy to the losers of a sports contest in our schools so that they don't feel left out? Funny, isn't it, how this worthless gamesmanship banter is linked directly to the undermining of our nation if you take more than a minute to look at it, and are willing to accept that it is this very agitator means of controversy that is the cornerstone of Progressivism, of the Saul Alinsky method, that the binary means of definition in opposites is the bedrock of a National Education Association Education.

May God's Light and Mercy find its way into our hearts, and may He shed His Light on this nation to help us see that our agreement establishes no ethical or moral high ground. That arguing the historical record and facts of the situation, claiming the unknown as our scapegoat in assertion of “what if,” is set to be our excuse to lose our Freedom, to give up our “unalienable Rights,” including, but not limited to, “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”
