Noted Links Re: Blizzard and NCSoft |
| Another something people have asked about regarding NCSoft, I figured this might also give people a link to a site to help them look up information on businesses: http://www.hoovers.com/ncsoft/--ID__117239--/free-co-profile.xhtml Something to note, from August of 2008 http://www.blizzard.com/us/press/080812.html This would explain the shift of NCSoft and why AION is getting the attention it is. I believe it's been mentioned, this idea of Blizzard encroaching on NCSoft's base market, well, in light of the local area tourism, I hope you can see how this Blizzard Press Release explains NCSoft's attitude, focus, and why these seems more to exude NCSoft's fear to we who love Tabula Rasa. NCSoft basically saw TR as unable to compete, but only because they couldn't figure out how to program a game with both grind and ease of play at the same time. NCSoft appears incapable of comprehending even the notion of further individualization of game play by trusting us to adjust ourselves instead of making global adjustments to the game mechanics. And for one part of the proposal that Mr. Strain appears to have perfectly ignored.... http://www.blizzard.com/us/press/080904.html Brilliant with GuildWars Mr. Strain and his team at Arena.net have been. Apparently absolutely inept when it comes to another product or a new idea other than his own, the one time fee to play. He claims to have appreciated the idea of doing something noble as proposed by us, by our proposal, but not enough to actually do it, and while the competition that he once worked for, Blizzard, is doing one of the very things that easily, due to Tabula Rasa's music, could have offset server costs. I am, in this rare moment, at a loss for words because ad hominems, no matter how accurate, are not something I support. |
