This could have been Tabula Rasa |
| http://www.globalagendagame.com/news/News_PressRelease_10-28-2008.html NCsoft didn't listen but maybe this company is, yet of course they can't pick putting an end to genocide as the game is primarily a PVP game, which is one against another. Yet they missed the same thing that NCSoft did, that each month that has a day set aside for a particular charity, an instance can be in the game that people pay an additional 5 bucks a month to go in, the 5 bucks is given to the charity. That this instance drops regular items and also 1 or 2 pieces of gear a person can wear to show they supported this charity in the game. But see that would mean actually reading the proposal sent to them, and caring enough about the players and what's possible to do something more than think about how to manage their power seats in corporate politics. Instead the shafting of Richard Garriott is extended to those who played his game Tabula Rasa. The focus was never to get players in, for to those who know they have less of a stake in NCSoft but produced money for it, there is a gain in making sure Tabula Rasa fails, or most any other game being introduced in America. We'll see as the months progress how this played out, I am sure Taek Jin Kim appreciates underlings who follow his same internal business practices, irrespective of an economy that won't support these corporate boss games and a World that needs its entertainment, as it did in the 30s, to help get passed this time in world history. But to think of that would be unselfish and responsible use of their corporate brand, the games they put out, and provide for a growing business based on something other than the company leader's ego driven "my way or the highway" game design management style. We can't have that now can we. Kudos to Hi-Rez Studios and their ability to recognize the advantages of working within charity circles, This is especially true in light of the $3,600,000,000,000 U.S. Government budget, more than the United States has spent since the beginning of the nation, and that this budget will lower the tax credits for charitable contributions. Charity needs gaming companies, like Activision Blizzard, Electronic Arts, NCSoft, etc. But of course it's a new independent publisher, Hi-Rez Studios, who answers the call, like the heroes in their game they join in to do the right thing, but in reality, and that deserves a round of applause from the entire community of game players.
